What Do Gang Tattoos Mean

Gang tattoos are typically used to identify gang members or to make a statement of affiliation to a particular gang. These tattoos can range from extremely elaborate full-body designs to small symbols that are only visible to other gang members. Generally speaking, each gang will have its own unique symbols and/or words which have specific meanings within the gang. These symbols and words can be used to identify members of that particular gang, represent an individual’s rank in the gang, or signify a particular act of loyalty or service to the gang. The symbols, words, and phrases are usually accompanied by symbols of violence, such as guns or knives, which show the gang’s commitment to use violence to protect its members or further its agenda.
