The pink and blue ribbon tattoo is a symbol of support for those affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). It serves to raise awareness of the disorder and to show solidarity with those living with it, or who have lost someone to it. This tattoo is often seen in combination with the birth month flower for CHD Awareness month in February, and for World CHD Awareness day in September. The ribbon also serves to pay tribute to those who have been affected by the disorder, both in terms of those who have lost their lives to it, and those who continue to live with it.
